Japanese left-hander Katsuhiko Maekawa agreed to terms with the Washington Nationals on a minor league contract Tuesday and will be invited to spring training. The 29-year-old Maekawa most recently pitched for Orix of the Pacific League in 2006, going 1-7 with a 5.26 ERA. The Nationals also announced that right-hander Enrique Gonzalez was claimed off waivers by the San Diego Padres.
