The AL West-leading Los Angeles Angels designated right-hander Hector Carrasco for assignment Tuesday and recalled right-hander Chris Resop from Triple-A Salt Lake. The 37-year-old Carrasco was 2-1 with a 6.57 ERA in one start and 28 relief appearances this season. He signed with the Angels as a free agent on Dec.
