Nationals purchase contracts of 1B Young, LHP King (AP)
The Washington Nationals purchased the contracts of first baseman Dmitri Young and left-handed reliever Ray King from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, adding them to the 40-man roster. Both came to spring training on non-guaranteed minor league deals. Young will make $500,000 this season, and King $850,000.

Nationals acquire 2 minor league infielders (AP)
The Washington Nationals acquired infielder Wade Robinson from the Houston Astros for catcher Danny Ardoin on Monday, and purchased infielder Matt Rogelstad from the Seattle Mariners. Also, the Nationals announced that right-handers Tim Redding and Jermaine Van Buren, infielder Bernie Castro and outfielder Michael Restovich accepted their assignments to the minors.
