Nationals part ways with assistant GM Siegle (AP)
Assistant general manager Tony Siegle was let go by the Washington Nationals on Wednesday after five seasons with the franchise. Siegle, who specialized in contract negotiations and rules interpretation, joined the team when it was the Montreal Expos, under current general manager Jim Bowden’s predecessor, Omar Minaya.

Nationals keep St. Claire, lose Lopes; other coaches in limbo (AP)
Randy St. Claire will stay on as the Washington Nationals’ pitching coach in 2007, first-base coach Davey Lopes is leaving, and the rest of the coaching staff won’t know its status until a new manager is hired. St. Claire’s return, announced Monday, guarantees some continuity for what could be an overhauled and inexperienced pitching staff.

Nationals send four to Triple-A (AP)
The Washington Nationals sent infielders Melvin Dorta and Henry Mateo, outfielder George Lombard and right-hander Roy Corcoran outright to Triple-A New Orleans on Friday. The club also activated right-handers John Patterson and Shawn Hill, left-hander Micah Bowie and outfielder Alex Escobar from the 15-day disabled list.
